Wendy Heijne, Founder and CEO of ShapelyTech, welcomes Carol as Co-Founder and CTO, deepening the leadership team behind the company's mission to empower clothing brands to reduce returns, eliminate overproduction, and deliver garments that truly fit.
ShapelyTech, an innovator in on-demand fashion technology software, announced that Carol Mae Bigelow has joined the company as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Carol partners with company founder Wendy Heijne, who continues as Founder and CEO, marking ShapelyTech's transition from a single-founder company to a two-person leadership team.
Carol joins ShapelyTech following a career spent inside large organizations leading large-scale transformation initiatives across industries. In her new role, she will lead ShapelyTech's technology and product organization, including the company's e-commerce integration platform, which automates custom measurements, pattern creation, and production routing directly from consumer orders — enabling apparel brands to move from speculative mass production to scalable, demand-driven manufacturing.
Both founders point to a shared conviction as the foundation of the partnership: that fashion brands should move away from mass production and standard sizing, toward on-demand manufacturing that produces only what's needed, when it's needed. That belief — that clothing should be shaped by real people, real data, and real demand, rather than an ‘average’ body that barely exists — is what drew Carol to join as co-founder.

“After a career working in several large corporations that are leading bold and inspirational transformations in various industries, I decided to dare something bigger: leading my own transformation as an entrepreneur in an industry I believe deeply needs it,” said Carol Mae Bigelow, Co-Founder and CTO of ShapelyTech.
“I am excited to introduce Carol as my co-founder and CTO,” said Wendy Heijne, Founder and CEO of ShapelyTech. “I truly believe we make a fantastic duo, bringing different strengths, perspectives, and experience to the table. I'm looking forward to building ShapelyTech together and seeing where we can take it.”
Carol will be based in Stockholm, joining ShapelyTech within what she has described as a fast-moving Nordic startup ecosystem, as the company continues to help apparel brands reduce returns, eliminate excess inventory, and transition away from standard sizing.
